Yeah the first game was near flawless. It's a shame that alot of the these top 20 fps's list don't have it ranked in the top 5 or at least top 10. I played Half-Life 2 and beat that as well and i honestly don't see what made people jizz on themselves from playing it. Specially when comparing it to Deus Ex.
Yeah it's the same reason i love Deus Ex. It took what i thought FPS's were and sh*tted on that concept of just toting a big gun and having some halfassed plot. It was much deeper than any game i ever played and did o many news things and everything blended perfectly.

I never played the second game and from what i hear it's good to stay away from it if i liked the original. I'm not sold on using these modern "standard" mechanics for a game like Deus Ex.
EA has been doing a pretty damn good job this last year. Hammering out new IP's, putting out free content (Burnout, Battlefield Hero's) and NBA Live 09 actually plays... Dare i say it. Like a new game. Can't say the same for madden since i'm on a personal strike of never buying another football game made by EA until the exclusive NFL agreement is up. Yeah i agree with you slapsta a Aug that allowed you to recover health over a short period of time would have been cool. The thing is would have been finding an alternative augmentation for health regeneration or a different type of health regeneration. Also i don't like the idea of canning the shadow stealth mechanic of the game. But from what i heard Eidios is also going to release a new thief which would make sense of taking out shadow stealth .

Their first party offering isn't as verbos as Sony's or Nintendo's first party studio's. Specially with them losing Pandemic, and BioWare who were like a 2nd party dev for them got snatched by EA. Sony has Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Team Ico, and Polyphony Digital amongst others. Nintendo has Shiggy's own dream team of dev's. MS only has Rare, Lionhead and MGS left. LionHead has so far only put out 1 going on 2 games for the xbox consoles and Rare is more casual friendly.
